  14. There are 3 zip files listed below.  Each file represents a disk.  You will need to unzip 
  15. them and copy the files to three 3.5" High Density disks.  The first disk contains a program 
  16. called <code>install</code>.  Run this to install PHOENICS V 1.4 onto your hard disk.

  18. If you are at Cranfield:
  19.  
  20. You will need to run the World Wide Web on a 
  21. Pegasus machine.  Click the mouse on each of the three files one at a time and 
  22. you will be prompted as to the directory and file name you wish to save each file 
  23. as.  For simplicity use the same names as those below.
  24.  
  25. Once you have saved the 
  26. three files you will need to ftp them over to your vulcan account.  If you do 
  27. not have a large enough quota you may need to do this one file at a time.  When 
  28. ftp'ing remember to set the file transfer format to binary by simply typing 
  29. binary at the ftp prompt prior to sending the file.

  31. Now you need 
  32. to log onto a PC and create three temporary directories disk1 disk2 disk3. 
  33. Copy the three files from your z: drive to the three directories ie copying 
  34. phoe1.zip to disk1, phoe2.zip to 
  35. disk2, etc.  Then go into each directory respectively and unzip each zip 
  36. file using:

  38. pkunzip filename
  39.  
  40. Next erase the zip files and copy 
  41. the remaining files in each directory to three 3.5" High Density disks (each directory consists of a 
  42. disk full of files).  The disk which represents disk1 is the 1st 
  43. disk and contains the installation program install.  disk2 
  44. is the 2nd disk and disk3 is the third disk. These three disks 
  45. represent the installation disks of the PHOENICS V 1.4 program.

  64. During the process the install program gives an error
  65. message that says "please insert disk 4".
  66.  
  67. This happens when you are trying to run the installation from the
  68. c drive.  You need to copy the files of the three directories on the c 
  69. drive to three 3.5" disks and run the installation from these disks.

  79. Do only Cranfield folks have authorization to do this, or is the server 
  80. just busy everytime I try?

  82. Anybody who wishes to download a copy of this program is welcome to.  There 
  83. is no security preventing people from outside the campus from downloading the 
  84. software.  You will probably experience less of a delay if you download when it 
  85. is night in Europe.
